Decision-support, not compliance approval
The IHM Categorization Tool provides AI-assisted screening with human review to help identify which supplier order items are likely relevant for IHM documentation. Its output is decision-support only and does not constitute a final regulatory compliance approval, a Material Declaration, a Supplier's Declaration of Conformity, or legal advice.
Client responsibility
Responsibility for IHM compliance — including obtaining, verifying, and maintaining supplier documentation and the inventory itself — remains entirely with the shipowner, operator, or other obligated party and their appointed competent experts.
AI limitations
AI-assisted classification operates on the supplier name and item description only. It may misclassify items, particularly where descriptions are vague, abbreviated, or ambiguous. The REQUIRES HUMAN REVIEW label flags such cases, but no automated system is free from error.
No warranty
To the extent permitted by law, the tool and its outputs are provided without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Liability is addressed in the Terms of Service.
